Tent camping (or hammock camping) is encouraged and included in the ticket price. General admission camping will require a short walk or trolly ride from the parking area. Please camp in designated areas only. Personal campfires are strictly prohibited. Wooded campsites are claimed on a first-come first-serve basis. We will have plenty of trolleys and staff on hand to help shuttle gear. Please do not occupy more space than necessary with your campsite. We expect the grounds to reach capacity and will need to make room for everyone. Thanks for your help with this. Please come fully prepared for an outdoor summer environment with hot days and cool nights. Check below for a list of what to bring.
General Parking is free and included in the ticket price this year! Please carpool with as many people as possible to help us make room for everyone and limit our carbon footprint. There may be a $5 re-entry fee at certain times throughout the festival. This will be imposed at the discretion of venue staff based on conditions of the grounds and flow of traffic.
Kids 12 and under are $20 each (cash only) at the gate. Please Note: a Parent or Legal Guardian must accompany anyone under 18 at all times. While we do welcome families with children, please keep in mind we do not provide a daycare service and The Big What? is generally a party meant for adults. An outdoor summer festival is not always a great environment for young children and babies. Please use your best judgment when deciding to bring the kids or not. If you do, please look after them at all times and use extra caution with them in the heat and after dark. We also suggest ear plugs for your kids’ ears (and yours!)
VIP Ticket Package
Each VIP ticket includes a souvenir laminate, reserved car camping in prime location, access to a reserved viewing area in front of the stage, access to private bathrooms with flushing toilets and sinks, 1 hot meal each night plus access to refreshments during the day, and a free download of each Big Something set from nugs.net
Car Camping Passes – $60
This is a pass for your vehicle only and does not include a ticket to the event. This pass grants access for 1 vehicle and its passengers (cost may be shared) to a reserved car camping area where you will be allotted a standard 10×18 camping space to set up camp. Small campers/popups that fit within these general measurements will be permitted with a car camping pass.
RV Camping – $90
All RVs on site will require an RV CAMPING PASS. This applies to all ticket holders including VIPs. This is a pass for your RV only and does not include a ticket to the event. Only 1 pass needed per RV (the cost can be shared by all passengers in the RV). This pass grants access to the RV camping area where you will be permitted to use a small generator and set up a campsite next to your RV. The Big What? does not open until NOON on Thursday 8/16. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 12PM NOON. You will not be able to park and wait in line. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COME ON ANY DAY PRIOR TO THE FESTIVAL AT ANY TIME. There will be gate security on site and you will be asked to leave.

All volunteer positions will be filled in advance. We do NOT accept walk-up volunteers. Even if you have volunteered in the past, please do not arrive and assume you will be able to volunteer if you have not already made specific arrangements with our volunteer coordinator this year. ABSOLUTELY NO FIREWORKS!
Anyone found using fireworks – big or small – of any kind will be asked to leave the festival without a refund. This is something we must strictly enforce for a number of different reasons. We can’t stress this enough! PLEASE NO FIREWORKS.
ABSOLUTELY NO PETS!
We love our animal friends, but we ask that you please leave them at home for this event. Really, please do not bring your dog or cat or squirrel on a leash or any other pet. We cannot make any exceptions. Any vehicle that arrives with a pet will not be allowed to enter the festival. Please make other arrangements for your animals while you are gone for the weekend.

LEAVE NO TRACE
Please help us keep the festival grounds clean and beautiful. We’ll need your help with this! Hundreds of people camping, partying, eating, driving, using the bathroom and doing all the things we do makes for a real impact on our physical environment. Our goal is to minimize that impact in all the ways we can. First we ask that you CARPOOL! CARPOOL! CARPOOL! We can’t emphasize this enough. The less cars, the better!
Next make sure to Plan Ahead and Prepare! Pack it in, and pack it out – just like any camper on the Appalachian Trail is required to do. Be responsible for your materials and limit the packaging and trash you bring. Please also be conscious of your cigarette BUTTS – bring a small tin to store your butts in rather than toss them on the ground. We’ll have trash cans and recycling bins set up, but we want to see if you can leave no trace without using them! You’ve got it in you!
What does your footprint look like? Are you planning decorations for your camp or theme that could blow away or come apart? Keep the LNT philosophy in the back of your mind as you plan. We have faith in you! Lets work together to leave our land better off than we found it!
